Will invest Rs 3.6k cr in Vidarbha to create 4.5k jobs: Raut

Companies like GK Krishna Alloys, Colourshine India, IndoRama, Vishwaraj Environment, Carnival Industries, etc. will invest in fuel ethanol, textile, steel, and oil extraction sectors in the Vidarbha region.

Nagpur: Vidarbha will get a share of about Rs 3,587 crore out of the proposed investment of around Rs 80,000 crore that will be routed through Maharashtra. This will go a long way in creating more than 4,500 jobs in this sector, Energy Minister Nitin Raut has told this, also citing various companies in the sector that have signed MoUs with the state government.

The Guardian Minister has also said that the state’s energy department alone has been completely successful in attracting investment of about Rs 50,000 crore in the renewable energy sector.

In the presence of Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray and Energy Minister Nitin Raut, a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between Gurugram’s Renew Power Private Limited CMD Sumant Sinha and MSEDCL CMD Vijay Singhal.

Agreement is a great achievement for the state

Energy Minister Nitin Raut has said that along with creating around 30,000 jobs in the state in a very short span of time, it will significantly accelerate the growth of the non-conventional energy sector. It is also being seen as one of the largest investments to be made in the energy sector from 2022 to 2028. The government will also provide all necessary permits, registrations, and approvals through a single-window system.

A power purchase agreement has also been signed between MSEDCL and Renew Power for 200 MW for 25 years. According to which the latter will supply electricity only through solar and other options.

The minister has said that this agreement is a great achievement for the state and MSEDCL. He is also very happy that he has also attracted investment of thousands of crores in the state.
