Interstate racket for issuing e-TP to Maha sand mafia busted

Nagpur: The crime branch of the city police has busted an inter-state racket based in Bhopal, Who was issuing fake Electronic Transit Pass (e-TP) to the sand mafia in Maharashtra, Due to which the government of the state suffered a substantial loss of royalty.

On Friday, the crime branch team picked up mastermind Rahul Khanna from Bhopal. It is also learned that he was also operating this racket for the last few months.

Rahul, the son of an influential politician from Bhopal, was caught in a trap and issued a fake pass to a police thug in Nagpur. And the noose asked Rahul to send an e-transit pass from Bhopal over the phone, Which can be used in district Nagpur.

After receiving the payment, Rahul sent him an e-pass from Narsinghpur to district Nagpur, Which can be used for nine hours. The case was first registered against Rahul in the Sadar police station, After which the crime branch team was sent to Bhopal to surround him.

Illegal Sand Transportation

CP Amitesh Kumar, who led the campaign along with DCP Crime Chinmay Pandit, has said that the rackets of Madhya Pradesh may have issued some such fake passes to the sand mafia in Nagpur and several other districts of Maharashtra.

Kumar said that in district Nagpur, they were investigating some cases of illegal sand transportation and other irregularities, including theft. Right now all the investigating officers have been instructed to find out that whether the e-pass seized by them from the racket holders has any relation with the existing racket busted in Bhopal or not.

He has said that this scam will lead to some more revelations about the modus operandi of sand mafia in district Nagpur. The top cop has said that the charges of criminal conspiracy have already been leveled in this case and many more chiefs are also expected to come forward.

DCP Crime Chinmay has also said that the sand transporters had to present their GPS-enabled vehicles at the sand ghats, They had to be weighed and then e-pass was also to be issued, But the racketeer was buying them from their own place.
