24×7 water supply to 70% of Nagpurians: Nitin Gadkari

While inaugurating the city's first e-library in Bajaria, he said that Nagpur is the first city in the country. Where such a large number of citizens are getting the benefit of a 24x7 water supply.

Nagpur: Nitin Gadkari, Union transport minister has claimed on Thursday that around 70% of the people of Nagpur are getting a 24×7 water supply.

While inaugurating the city’s first e-library in Bajaria, he said that Nagpur is the first city in the country. Where such a large number of citizens are getting the benefit of a 24×7 water supply.

Even before the NMC elections, Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari also dedicated an overhead water tank in the Babulban area, Wathoda-Kalamna cement road, a swimming pool at NMC’s fire station in Kalamna, and Babulban Maidan in East Nagpur to the public on Thursday.

Along with this, while dedicating the overhead water tanks in Babylon, he has also said that infrastructure works, especially roads and flyovers worth about Rs 800 crore from the Central Road Fund, will change the face of East Nagpur. Along with this, Symbiosis University has already added a feather to the cap of this part of the city.

Source of earning money from corrupt practices

The Minister, however, expressed displeasure that Failure by the NMC to utilize the JNNURM fund of around Rs 200 crore has delayed some of the works sanctioned to strengthen the city’s water supply. He has also said that there is no pipeline at all in some areas including Babylon. This part of the city will also get a 24×7 water supply once the work is completed.

He also gave the credit of all the development works of Nagpur district to the people of Nagpur.

Along with this, during the inauguration of the e-library, Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari has praised Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari for converting six Marathi medium schools into CBSE. Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari has also announced a plan to convert the old Bhandara Road into four lanes.

He has also assured rehabilitation of all the projects affected by the Nag River Pollution Abatement Project.

Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari has also said that becoming a politician should not be seen at all as a source of earning money from corrupt practices.

He has also said that if you want to earn money, then they can also help them to get a petrol pump.
