Canteen operator in Nagpur Municipal Corporation Headquarters fined for using banned plastic bags

On Wednesday the Nuisance detection squad also known as NDS caught a canteen operator infor using the banned plastic bags. The NDS squad also fined the canteen owner for rupees 5000.

The additional municipal commissioner Ram Joshi received a tip-off and acted on it he alongside the NDS commandant V Tambe initiated an action against the owner of the canteen. The NDS team laid a trap on Wednesday afternoon and decided to order four plates of aloo poha as a parcel. The waiter of the cafeteria packed the package in the plastic bags which were banned. After some time, the team which was waiting outside entered the canteen and caught the waiter red-handed for keeping and using banned plastic bags. While searching the cafeteria the NDS team recovered and seized about 1 kg plastic bags.

The NDS team has visited about 25,909 shops and has seized banned plastic products Since June 2018 after the Maharashtra Government imposed a blanket ban on plastic bags and products.
