positive cases down

Dr. Anup Marar, the convener of the Vidarbha Hospital Association, has said that the 20:80 rule is still in force. Each of the hospitals had already started using beds for non-Covid in view of the disease of mucormycosis and later dengue.

Dr. Anup Marar has also said that “Now the administration should officially end this covid-19 reservation system of beds. These hospitals should now be allowed to function non-Covid at least to more than 50% capacity as per state GR.”

The state government had already said in the GR that in the event of a fall, the beds reserved for coronavirus should not be less than 50% at all. These state government officials have said that there are less than 100 active cases of coronavirus in more than 15 districts of the state and beds of covid-19 are also lying vacant. Now even in these cities, most covid-19 cases are being treated at home. And a very small percentage of coronavirus patients now absolutely need to be admitted inside the hospital.

Vidarbha Hospital Association now has more than 126 private hospitals in Vidarbha. And whose total bed strength is more than 10,000.

Restore Trauma Center building

Apart from these private hospitals, there is a demand to restore the Trauma Center building of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for accident victims and trauma patients. But Government Medical College and Hospital officials have said that a strategic decision was also taken to continue the status of the trauma center’s coronavirus hospital for some more time.

A senior official has said that every major facility is fully established in the event of the third wave of covid-19 in the hospital of coronavirus developed in the trauma center building. Ventilators and Pediatric ICU are also in these hospitals. Therefore, it has been decided to maintain it as a coronavirus hospital.

The President of Vidarbha Hospital Association named Dr. Ashok Arbat He has said that the rules should be flexible and if the cases of coronavirus increase and covid patients need to be hospitalized, then at that time bed reservation can also be restored. “Many coronavirus patients currently do not require hospitalization or ICU admission at the current stage. Private hospitals should now be allowed to focus on all post-coronavirus and non-Covid diseases with good focus,” he said.
