The college staff also marked several students from the Arts, Commerce, and Law faculties as absent in theory, practical or internal examinations. And this despite the fact that they appeared in all the papers.

“He came running to us after students complained to him. We are fed up with the repeated complaints made against him by the students. Due to their mistakes, we need to do extra work by stopping our regular work of conducting the examination. The university is being unnecessarily blamed for such gaffes committed by these colleges. Such complaints have been on the rise ever since NU entrusted the colleges with the task of conducting first-semester exams.” officials told TOI.

On Wednesday, one of the teachers of Dr. Ambedkar College approached NU officials to completely correct the mark sheet of a girl. Which was marked absent on a paper. “Even his students are not serious. This girl appeared for the exam in August and her result was declared in September or October. She realized that she could not fill out the examination form for the next semester in December, as she had been given absenteeism. After this, he informed the college authorities about this mess. He too took it very softly and contacted us after two months.” NU officials said.

Though principal Bhoomi Mehere failed to respond to TOI’s calls and messages, But a HOD of the college has also accepted that there have been some mistakes on their part. “As soon as we come to know of any such error, we contact NU Examination Section for rectification,” They said.

TOI on Friday reported how the college has checked answer sheets of M.Com final semester students as per the B.Com syllabus and gave them paltry marks so that their future admissions hang in balance. Many had already lost the opportunity to take additional courses.
