Dummies detected: 339 LL applications rejected

Initially, many dummy candidates appeared on behalf of LL applicants on the portal of parivahan.gov.in. Even TOI had reported similar scams in Nagpur and other cities including Chandrapur, Gondia and Aurangabad.

NAGPUR: The Nagpur Rural RTO has completely rejected the Learner’s License (LL) applications of around 339 candidates. After it came to the fore that dummy candidates had also appeared on their behalf in the online examination.

“We have constituted a special team to check the IP addresses of such candidates. So as to bust the racket involved in allowing dummy candidates to appear for learner’s license examination,” officiating RTO (Nagpur Rural) Vijay Chavhan said. Vijay Chavhan said that all driving schools and cyber cafes are going to be on our radar.

Initially, many dummy candidates appeared on behalf of LL applicants on the portal of parivahan.gov.in. Even TOI had reported similar scams in Nagpur and other cities including Chandrapur, Gondia and Aurangabad.

However, even after the improvements, the new portal of transport also completely captures the activities of coming and going in front of the webcam. And let us tell you that this new LL test has been linked to the Aadhaar card, which does face recognition and also helps a lot in the verification of applicants. In case of suspicious activities, test paper results of learner’s license applicants are automatically sent in pending mode as well.

Vijay Chavhan has also explained that RTO gets alerts of pending LL. Vijay Chavhan also said, “During verification of tests of 339 applicants, the RTO team found several irregularities detected by webcams in front of their computers, such as one or more people, moving objects, fixed eyes, etc.”

Around 339 applicants also appeared in the learner’s license exam between January 2023 and April 2023. In the month of January, rural RTO completely rejected the learner’s licence test of 173 applicants, 99 in February, 37 in March, and 30 in April. “In most of the rejected LL tests, we found that movement behind the applicant is the major violation,” the RTO said.

“Now RTO will also try to track the IP address of these rejected LL applicants, And also see if driving school or any internet cafe is included or not. “We can initiate an action like blacklisting these IP addresses,” Vijay Chavhan said. Apart from this, we are also going to file a police complaint, They said.
