Nagpur: CBSE schools in Nagpur have said that they will make extra efforts to ensure that after the board exams have started on the date 26 April, all the students should not have to bear the brunt of the scorching heat at all. They significantly delayed the exam schedule and the unusually high temperature in the same year seemed to be a huge challenge for all the stakeholders.
Ritu Sharma, principal of Delhi Public School (Kampti Road), has said that there will definitely be a lot of planning in this because students are their priority. The water cooler will also be kept on maximum chilling. Double-checking of all these fans and ventilation of rooms will also be done. These are also things that are done normally, but due to the summer exams, extra precautions will also be taken.
SN Sahu, Principal of Podar International School (BESA) has said that the priority will be to ensure that students are comfortable while writing. He plans to distribute glucose water to all the kids so that they stay fully hydrated.
Second relief is duration of examination
Rekhna Nair, Narayan Vidyalaya Principal, has said that the seating plan will be the main focus area. Its first priority would be to allot the maximum number of seats in the ground floor classes. The top is completely out of the question and there is absolutely no chance of any kind of room being allotted to the children. While the papers start on the date of April 26, they go on throughout this month of May and the last date for them is in the month of June.
The relief that the students will get from the dangerous heat is the right time for the exam. All the papers will be held at 10.30 am for both X and XII only. Which is also a reason for getting out of the exam. Along with this, the second relief is the duration of the examination which will be of only two hours as opposed to about three in a normal year. This is because CBSE has conducted the first half of the board exams in the month of November/December.
Narayan Vidyalaya Principal Rekhna Nair has said that the examination of the students will be completely over by 12.30 pm and this will also bring some relief to the students.
