Goons are chain snatching to bail the brother

Chain snatching incidents have taken place between 8.15 pm to 10.30 pm in Lakadganj, Kalamna, Jaripatka, Ganeshpeth, and Kamptee.

Nagpur: Shaheed Ali Ghulam Ali Raza, a 32-year-old goon, snatched gold chains from at least five women at different places on Friday with the aim of raising money for the bail of his elder brother Mohsin, who is lodged in Nagpur Central Jail.

Chain snatching incidents have taken place between 8.15 pm to 10.30 pm in Lakadganj, Kalamna, Jaripatka, Ganeshpeth, and Kamptee.

Crimes were also registered at Lakadganj, Jaripatka, and Ganeshpeth police stations. The police have also recovered three gold chains from Shaheed Ali Ghulam Ali Raza and his bike. Goods worth about Rs 2.50 lakh have also been recovered from him.

Seven crimes are also registered against Shaheed Ali Ghulam Ali Raza, he had also covered his face completely, walked in lanes to avoid getting caught on CCTV cameras and also used fake vehicle number plates. It has also been learned that the police had reached a person’s house in Godhani as the number plate of Shaheed Ali Ghulam Ali Raza’s bike matched that of his two-wheeler.

Raza’s face was also visible in a CCTV footage captured near Telipora, where he robbed a senior citizen, and his ‘body structure’ had been identified in another CCTV camera of Ganeshpeth.

CP Amitesh Kumar had also directed DCP, Detection, Mummaka Sudarshan, and ACP, Crime, Manoj Sidam to form a team, investigate technically and use human intelligence.
