Illegal packaging unit of tobacco busted in Chandrapur

Chandrapur: The Local Crime Branch (LCB) of the district on Friday busted an illegal packaging unit of flavored tobacco at a farmhouse in Talodhi Balapur, Tehsil of Nagbhid. And about eight people have also been arrested. Police also seized illegal flavored tobacco and related material worth about Rs 25 lakh from the spot.

The local crime branch was also informed about the operation of a fake packaging unit of flavored tobacco at Sachin Vaidya’s farmhouse in Talodhi Balapur. The local crime branch’s in-charge Balasaheb Khade has also raided the premises after informing the Superintendent of Police, Arvind Salve, exactly. Where a completely illegal packaging unit of flavored tobacco is also found.

Vehicle for transporting raw materials and counterfeit products

Balasaheb Khade has also said that we have also discovered shisha, hookah, and many tobacco brands of Eagle from their whereabouts. About eight people have also been found mixing these tobacco brands with the help of machines and packing them in pouches and containers labeled with the Maza brand of tobacco. We have also seized a packaging machine and various brands of tobacco.

He has also told that about 1,000 grams of different brands of tobacco, packaging, weighing, and barcode machines, sealing machines, and mixing machines have been confiscated from the spot. Simultaneously, a vehicle for transporting raw materials and counterfeit products, along with the flavored tobacco and other paraphernalia too collectively worth about Rs 25.71 lakh – has been seized from the spot.

These accused have also been identified as Vaibhav Karkade, Sagar Gajbhiye, Salman Kasmane, Sagar Satimeshram, Rohit Dharne, Mayur Chachere, Vabhav Bhoyar, and Khemraj Chatre. A case has also been registered against the accused in Talodhi police station.
