Paapu alias Pradeep Deshmukh has also alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled Chandrapur Municipal Corporation (CMC) has fooled the citizens by giving around Rs 200 crore to the contractor even though the scheme has been delayed by almost two and a half years.

Deshmukh has alleged that despite the issue of the work order in the year 2017, the AMRUT scheme was to be completed by the year 2019. Protesters threw and broke utensils

He has further alleged that roads were dug up all over the city to lay water supply lines. But the roads dug up so far have not been repaired at all. People have to deal with a lot of dust and potholes. Despite this, the corporation has rushed to give about Rs 200 crore to the contractor.

It was also alleged that initially, M/s Santosh Agency, the contractor, was given the 1st extension due to the covid-19 pandemic. Later, they were given some extensions despite relaxation in the rules of coronavirus and paying around 85%, Contractor Santosh Murkute was also favored as he is also very close to the ruling party and was recently appointed a member of the state’s governing body.

A huge banner was put up at the site of the movement of Santosh Murkute appointment to the Bharatiya Janata Party. Along with this, the protesters also threw and broke utensils in front of the Chandrapur Municipal Corporation.
