After further interrogation, it is learned that 60-year-old K Achyut Shankar Shaniware had ordered the cutting of this tree. Because the premises of his house was littered due to the fall of the leaves of these trees. According to the information received, Achyut Shankar had hired a gang of these illegal tree-cutters, Who had agreed to cut down the three trees and take the wood for about Rs 1,000.

Action against illegal cutting of trees

Kaustav Chatterjee, the founder of Green Vigil, has said that with a lot of effort and logic, he stopped cutting the tree. And a mango tree was saved from being cut down. But the other one had already been brutally cut leaving the stem. This stick was also crushed very badly.

The NGO has also informed the Horticulture Department of Nagpur Municipal Corporation about this incident. Whose officials have come there and got the spot inspected and after that, the Panchnama has also been done. According to officials, a show-cause notice will be issued on Saturday. The Dharampeth circle officials have already confiscated the ropes and 2 axes.

The Nagpur Municipal Corporation has also warned these citizens to be fully aware of illegal tree-cutting gangs roaming around in different areas. Kaustav said that no citizen can cut these huge trees on his own at all. Because of this, they resort to illegal felling of these trees. These citizens should avoid cutting trees for such petty reasons.
