The Railway Protection Force (RPF) had also seized a bag of material, Which was already considered to be gelatin or other major explosive. The incident had also created an uproar raising security concerns. However, it has also been found from the inspection of experts that although these were not gelatin sticks at all, it was not commercial explosive at all. Rather these biscuits were just pieces of Bicat strips, Which were traced back to an organization that trains combat soldiers.

Bicat strips may not cause any injury at all, But when lit, there is a sound similar to that of rifle fire. In combat situations or even during ambushes, this helps the enemy to create the impression that soldiers are firing from the direction of the sound, but they may actually be elsewhere, said a source. Which is also manufacturing goods in a government agency.

Storage of various types of ammunition

A source has also said that the explosion has been done in such a way that it seems that the bullet is being fired from the rifle. It takes the same amount of time to fire two rounds from a rifle. Ordnance factories also continue to manufacture strips in India.

In other words, these strips are just firecrackers that look exactly like rifle fire. However, it is used for military purposes, and the strips are also very expensive, the source said. He also expressed concern over the material being found on civilian premises outside the custody of the armed forces.

The Defense PRO’s office had also vehemently denied that the seized material was being brought from the Army’s Central Ammunition Depot (CAD) at Pulgaon. The depot is also the storage of various types of ammunition.
