In Vidarbha, about 50% of youth in age group of 15-18 were given vax dose, 29k got booster in the district

As far as the booster dose starting from the date of January 10 is concerned, then till Thursday, around 80,000 people including senior citizens have received the third dose.

Nagpur: In the Vidarbha region, covid vaccination of adolescents in the age group of 15 to 18 years is going on in full swing. And in the last about 17 days, about 5.50 lakh have been successfully vaccinated with a single dose. The vaccination of covid was started from the date of 3 January.

As far as the booster dose starting from the date of January 10 is concerned, then till Thursday, around 80,000 people including senior citizens have received the third dose. Officials have also said that the booster dose is all set to gain momentum in the month of February as more senior citizens will be eligible.

Dr. Nitin Kapse, District Health Officer, Gondia has said that they have successfully apprehended more than 41,500 juveniles in Gondia, Which is more than 60% of their target. Around 4,000 frontline workers, health workers and senior citizens have taken boosters in Gondia, Which has been one of the leading districts in covid vaccination since its inception.

Vaccination centers more crowds

The first dose of vaccination in district Bhandara is more than 100%, Whereas around 44,205 people in the age group of 15 to 18 have vaccinated. District Collector Sandip Kadam has also said that he has been a pioneer in vaccination from the very beginning. And they’re continuing to do it in child vaccinations as well. More than 50% of their adolescents have already been vaccinated.

About 55,860 youth have taken the vaccine in Buldhana, which is close to 50 percent.

In Nagpur, more than 1.26 lakh teenagers have taken the vaccine. Which is very close to half of the total target of 2.35 lakhs. Adolescents who had taken the first dose of covid in the first week of the month of January, They will be eligible for a second dose of covid in the next about ten days and then the vaccination centers will also see more crowds.

Dr Vasant Khalatkar, Principal Investigator of the Pediatric Trials of Covaxin conducted in Nagpur has stated that vaccination is one of the most important tools to ensure the safety of the pediatric population.
