It also turns out that Shaikh Usman, a cleaner of a light carrier, was seriously injured when a group of right-wing activists pelted stones at a vehicle near Kandri village in the late evening of 16 November. Shaikh Usman, a resident of Kamptee, who was seriously injured, was taken to a private hospital on the outskirts of Nagpur.

Sources have also told that Shaikh Usman and his accomplice were also bringing three buffaloes including a calf from Gobarwahi village located on the Maharashtra-Madhya Pradesh border. They were also allegedly taking them to an illegal slaughterhouse in Kamptee.

The vehicle was stopped by right-wing activists led by Shekhar Badwaik, who is allegedly known to extort money from cattle smugglers.

No crime was registered by the Andhalgaon police

Now the matter was initially hushed up by the Andhalgaon police, and no crime was registered at all. Now, this issue came to the fore when a group of supporters of Kamathi’s Usman laid siege to the Andhalgaon police station on 17th November. Now, this matter has increased so much that SP Lohit Matani had to reach the spot to intervene.

Lohit Matani also said that despite the seriousness of the injured, no crime was registered by the Andhalgaon police, for which there is a great need for disciplinary action. “We are considering further action against the culprits. Eight people have been arrested so far.” Lohit Matani said, adding senior officials are also probing the matter. After all, was there any suspicious connection between the removed Andhalgaon police station in-charge (Mattami) and the main accused in this case other than covering up the crime.
