With limited trains operating in different directions covering major cities and towns, the number of people stranding still remains huge. This is because only AC tickets are being allocated by the railways with inflated rates to avoid the unwanted rush. However, with the lockdown likely to end by 31st May, the railways is planning to start 200 non AC trains from 1st June. It is good news for the laborers and others who are stranded at different places to get back to the home destinations.
As per reports, the railway ministry has issued a statement this Tuesday about the same. These trains would be the additional number of trains that would function as per the daily time table from the said date apart from the Shramik Special trains. Currently only 15 trains are getting operated since 12th May and it will soon expand to 200 trains.
The passengers boarding the train are likely to maintain the norms like social distancing and use of sanitizers to avoid the spread of the virus. The detailed information is likely to be shared by the ministry soon. These include the detailed time table and the when and how one can book the tickets to different direction from the trains plying to various Indian cities and towns.
