Repair & Filling Bad Potholes

Even after announcing in the general body meeting that by the end of the month of December, all the potholes on the roads of the entire city would be repaired, Nagpur Municipal Corporation has completely failed to ensure to its taxpayers these bad pothole-free roads as some areas are still full of potholes.

Sources have also said that Nagpur Municipal Corporation spends a huge amount every year on the repair and maintenance of bad roads, But given the pathetic condition of the roads, it has little or no accountability at all.

The civic body has sanctioned about Rs 41 crore for all these 10 areas for the repair and filling of bad potholes and has spent more than 50% of the allocated funds. As of now, there is no assurance of any kind that many of the city’s worst roads will be free of potholes.

According to Nagpur Municipal Corporation officials, the civic body does pre-monsoon road works. The biggest problem is the plying of overloaded vehicles. He also says that this is also one of the reasons for the condition of the roads.
