Thief gave away gold, fled to village ‘unsafe for police’

Villagers mostly belong to such a community who allegedly makes a living by stealing, and has also been known to attack police teams.

Nagpur: Police team of Yashodhara Nagar had to come back outside their village in Pachore taluka of Rajgarh district in Madhya Pradesh with around 12 tola of gold returned by a thief recently. The thief, identified as Deepak Sisodiya, had fled to the safety of his house. And the local police refused to take any action to nab him because of security threats from the thief’s community in the village.

Villagers mostly belong to such a community who allegedly makes a living by stealing, and has also been known to attack police teams. The police of Yashodhara Nagar have taken advice not to go to the village at all due to the risk of life, If the community attacks the police try to retaliate.

The community is believed to have indulged in piracy across India, posing as relatives and guests, especially before going back to their village from the wedding venues.

The police of Yashodhara Nagar had sent a message to the people of the community along with evidence against Deepak Sisodiya. The community had sent Deepak Sisodiya to meet the police, Who had planned to catch him out of the village and bring him back.

Deepak had fled back to his village leaving behind a lot of valuables. The police chased him for a long distance, but he had to return due to fear of attack.

Return the stolen material

Under the supervision of zonal DCP Manish Kalwaniya, the police team of Yashodhara Nagar, senior inspector Sanjay Jadhav and inspector Prashant Jhumde, on the date of 7 December 2021. Kalamana was successful in identifying Deepak along with a girl involved in the theft at a wedding venue on Ring Road. About 17 tolas of silver, gold and about Rs 2.75 lakh in cash have been stolen.

DCP Kalwaniya has also said that the Yashodhara Nagar police team will continue its efforts to nab Deepak and his accomplice. Kalwaniya has also said that Deepak was completely successful in escaping but a huge amount of valuables have been recovered.

He has also said that the police of Yashodhara Nagar will return the stolen material to the complainants after completing the formalities.
