In India US mission celebrated 6th annual Student Visa Day

Nagpur: The US mission in India celebrated its sixth annual Student Visa Day on Tuesday. More than 2,500 Indian student visa applicants were also interviewed by officials from the US Embassy in New Delhi and consulates in Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Mumbai.

Student Visa Day also celebrates the higher education relationship between the United States of America and India. In the same year, more than 200,000 Indian students are also studying in American educational institutions, which currently represent more than 20 percent of international students in the United States.

Consular officers will be interviewing more students

“This same year, consular officers will be interviewing more students than ever before, and we hope to break the previous year’s record to issue as well,” the Minister of Consular Affairs in India, Counselor Don Heflin, said.
