Water supply to Vadad from today, Zilla Parishad CEO tells officer

The CEO, who took cognizance of a report on the deaths due to kidney disease due to drinking absolutely contaminated water in Vada, held a review meeting with the concerned officials on Friday.

Yavatmal: Zilla Parishad CEO Shri Krishna Panchal has ordered the Executive Engineer of District Panchayat Kolhe on Friday that in case the RO machines are not repaired in a day or two, arrangements should be made for water supply in Vadad (Brahmi) village and Sevadas Nagar of Pusad assembly constituency from Sunday.

The CEO, who took cognizance of a report on the deaths due to kidney disease due to drinking absolutely contaminated water in Vada, held a review meeting with the concerned officials on Friday. The chief executive officer has already sought this exact explanation from the officials and has sent a team of doctors to the village. Along with this, he has also directed Kolhe to supply water under Jal Jeevan Mission.

Village Sarpanch Swati Padghan has also reiterated that about 42 people have died so far. While more than 100 have suffered from kidney disease. However, in a report submitted to the chief executive officer, District Health Officer (DHO) Dr. Pralhad Chavan has stated that 12 deaths have taken place, While five people are still undergoing treatment for kidney ailments.

The chief executive officer has also confirmed that the two RO machines are lying defunct for the last almost two years, despite the amount of Rs.6 lakh being given for repairs.

DHO has submitted a fake report to mislead the CEO

The DHO has also claimed that water samples are collected every about six months. And its chemical content is also tested. He has also said that the presence of fluoride has also been satisfactory. Conversely, the chief executive officer has also confirmed that the TDS level of water, which should be less than 100, should be more than 240, thereby making it unfit for human consumption. After this, regular checking of water samples from all water sources in the villages will also be done.

The villagers have also told that the DHO has submitted a fake report to mislead the CEO.

Manish Jadhav, District President of Swabhimani Shetkari Sangathan again demanded to register an FIR for culpable homicide against the concerned District Panchayat officers and employees.
