Of the 25 new cases in the district, 15 are from the city - from Hanuman Nagar, Satranjipura, Laxmi Nagar, Dharmapeth, and Mangalwari areas.
Nagpur: The region reported a rare spike of 32 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, Which has happened for the first time after the date of 10 March. Nagpur district has 25 covid cases, which means an increase of 20 has been registered for the first time since the date of 18 February.
Of the 25 new cases in the district, 15 are from the city – from Hanuman Nagar, Satranjipura, Laxmi Nagar, Dharmapeth, and Mangalwari areas. Seven covid cases are from rural Nagpur, While 3 are patients from other states.
The reason behind the same spike has also been the airport-level testing of passengers, most notably from New Delhi. This testing started on Monday. The cases of coronavirus were reported due to the mandatory testing policy that started on Sunday.
Most of the 15 city patients and 3 covid patients from other states who tested positive on Tuesday are also air travelers and none of them have any major symptoms at all. If there was no mandatory test at all, then they would not have been detected. None of them have any health issues at all, due to which they were let go and have been advised to remain in home isolation for the next seven days.
At present, there are 53 active covid cases in district Nagpur, but none of them have been hospitalized. Even on Sunday, it was found that a patient with mild symptoms could not be admitted to the hospital as his SPO2 level was absolutely normal. This makes the patient unfit for hospitalization.
Except for Nagpur, no other district of Vidarbha has registered a similar increase in new covid cases at all.
The month of June completed its first week on Tuesday, in which 97 new coronavirus cases came out, Out of which 60 have already been cured. This also means a very good recovery rate, controlled test positivity, and absolutely no deaths due to Coronavirus.
Hospitalization has also been almost zero. All these are positive indicators showing that even though the cases of covid may increase, the severity will not be at all like the second wave. Most patients either recover without symptoms or some recover with mild symptoms as in the third wave.
