27% of the nearly 30,000 samples tested have tested positive in the Vidarbha
In district Nagpur, around 13,848 tests have been conducted in the last 24 hours and out of them 4,428 have tested positive, Which means a positivity rate of around 32%.
Nagpur: The graph of coronavirus is turning very sharply upwards in an Omicron-dominated wave, it seems. After 4,666 new covid cases on Tuesday and 6,465 cases on Wednesday, 8,008 cases of covid have been found in this area on Thursday.
Around 27% of the nearly 30,000 samples tested in the last 24 hours have tested positive in the Vidarbha region. In some districts including Nagpur, the test positivity rate is as high as 30% as of now.
In district Nagpur, around 13,848 tests have been conducted in the last 24 hours and out of them 4,428 have tested positive, Which means a positivity rate of around 32%. There were six Covid deaths in Nagpur – two rural, three from the city, and one from other districts.
The number of covid patients under treatment has now reached around 35,000. Most of those patients are recovering in home isolation. In Buldhana, Gondia, Amravati, Akola, more than 90% of the patients are in home isolation. The hospitalization rate in district Nagpur is around 3%. Despite the spurt in new covid cases, hospital beds, ventilators, oxygen beds are largely vacant in all the districts of Vidarbha.
Wardha: Out of 1,167 tests conducted in the last 24 hours in this district, 420 have tested positive for covid. On Thursday, with the recovery of about 315 patients, 1,694 covid patients are undergoing treatment. The recoveries and caseload have gone up to 48,936 and 52,020 respectively. There have been no new deaths and the toll has remained unchanged at 1,329.
Yavatmal: In this district, out of 1,630 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, 358 new patients of covid have been found. With no deaths reported in the district, the toll has remained unchanged at 1,789.
Amaravati: A spike of 470 cases of covid out of 1,787 samples tested in this district has taken the district’s caseload to 99,344, while 192 recoveries have taken the total to 95,590.
Chandrapur: With 563 new cases of covid in this district, the number of patients under treatment has gone up to 2,582 on Thursday. There were no casualties and 227 have recovered. A total of 2,313 coronavirus tests have been conducted in the last 24 hours.
Akola: The spurt in new cases continued on Thursday with 469 new covid cases out of 1,388 tests in this district. In the district, 284 patients have been cured in a day. At present, treatment of 2,152 patients is going on.
Washim: In the last 24 hours, 169 new cases have been reported from Washim. At present, 626 patients of covid are undergoing treatment in this district. Around 1,100 tests have been done in the last 24 hours.
Buldhana: Out of 1,889 tests conducted in this district, 354 new cases of covid have been reported in Buldhana and 145 patients have been completely cured.
Gondia: In the last 24 hours, 1,155 tests have been done. Around 224 of them have tested positive. In this district, 107 covid patients have been cured in the last 24 hours.
Bhandara: 1,109 tests have been conducted in this district, Out of which 329 have been found covid positive. At present, 1,109 patients of covid are under treatment in this district as 111 patients have been cured on Thursday.
Gadchiroli: Out of 1,022 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, 224 have been found positive in the Gadchiroli district. 99 patients of covid have been cured in one day. Now 956 patients are undergoing treatment.
