Package 1 of this 701 km project was examined by Eknath Shinde, Anil Kumar Gaikwad, Nishikant Sukhe, MLA Ashish Jaiswal, Shiv Sena leader Kiran Pandav and some other leaders. Toll will be accepted as per the guidelines issued by the Central Government in 2008. Light weight vehicles will be charged a toll of Rs 1.65 per kilometer. Heavy vehicles will attract three times the toll. The Nagpur-Shirdi project is 79 percent complete and the entire project is 70 percent complete.
The Covid-19 crisis had put 40 percent of the workers out of work. So there was a slight delay in this work. But now everything is streamlined and there are 35000 workers and 5500 machines working for these projects, Gaikwad said. The construction of the road between Nagpur and Shirdi should be completed by May 1, an order issued by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray in December last year.
Work has started on 15 out of 20 nodes and this project is very important for the state. This expressway will attract various industries in Vidarbha and Marathwada and will also develop the region. You can drive at a speed of 150 kmph on this express highway. This will reduce the travel time from 15 hours to 6-7 hours from Mumbai to Nagpur.
