Fadnavis appreciates Bawankule’s nomination, Tawde’s appointment
While Vinod was promoted as the national general secretary of this party. Chandrashekhar was offered a ticket for MLC elections from Nagpur in place of Girish Vyas.
Nagpur: Leader of the opposition in the assembly whose name is Devendra Fadnavis. He has honored his former state ministers Chandrashekhar Bawankule and Vinod Tawde with brand new roles by top Bharatiya Janata Party leaders in Delhi on Monday.
While Vinod was promoted as the national general secretary of this party. Chandrashekhar was offered a ticket for MLC elections from district Nagpur in place of Girish Vyas.
Both were denied tickets by the central leadership during the 2019 assembly elections. Due to which there was a lot of stir in the state cadre of this party. And then he was also a senior minister in the Devendra cabinet and was very much a favorite to retain these seats from their respective constituencies.
Despite the very strong recommendations of the Maharashtra unit of this party, the reason behind their boycott along with many others is still a mystery.
Devendra has also said that even after being away for two years, he is very happy to see him coming back in the assembly elections.
Along with this, he has worked really hard during his tenure as 1st minister also. And he has really proved that how a public representative should work for the people. And he has also done a wonderful job as the General Secretary of the party in the last one year. It seems to me that today’s program is the result of their hard work so far.
Bawankule & Tawde planned
In the assembly elections held in October 2019, the Bharatiya Janata Party central leadership also completely refused to give tickets to seniors like its chief whip in the Assembly Raj Purohit, formers ministers Prakash Mehta, Eknath Khadse, and many others. And about 19 MLAs were also dropped from this list altogether. Because of which Bharatiya Janata Party leaders blamed solely for the reduction of the party from around 122 in the year 2014 to 105 in the year 2019.
According to Bharatiya Janata Party leaders, the rehabilitation plan for both Vinod and Chandrashekhar was made keeping in mind the civic polls to be held in the coming year. And former Education Minister Vinod is from the Maratha community while former Energy and Product Minister Chandrashekhar Teli is also there. Both these communities together have a sizeable share of the electorate in the state. Despite being completely denied this ticket, his supporters organized a protest against the then Devendra government. Due to which the vote bank of the Bharatiya Janata Party was adversely affected.
After being completely denied the ticket of this Chandrashekhar, his wife’s name was doing the rounds, but the party leadership had completely refused to give her the AB form and then gave priority to Tekchand Sawarkar.
For Vinod, who was an MLA from Borivali in Mumbai. And given the fact that the Bharatiya Janata Party wanted to secure a victory in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections against its own friend-turned-enemy Shiv Sena, this promotion is all the more significant.
