Take strict action against plastic kite, nylon manja: NMC

Nagpur: The Medical Health Special Committee has directed the concerned officials to take very strict action against shops selling plastic kites, synthetic manja, and banned nylon as well as those who do not wear masks at all.
Committee chairman Mahesh (Sanjay) Mahajan has issued instructions to Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh in the meeting of this committee in the hall. Veersen Tambe, Vikram Gwalbanshi, Vice-Chairman, Ngesh Mankart, Medical Health Officer, Dr Mahendra Mahalle, Nodal Officer, Vidya Kanhere, Bhavana Lonare, all members, Solid Waste Management, Dr Vijay Joshi, Asstt Health Officer, Dr Govardhan Navkhare, Vijay Deshmukh, Deputy Commissioner, Dr Sanjay Chilkar, and others were present. Mahesh (Sanjay) Mahajan also reviewed the action being taken against the nylon manjha.
Action is being taken against those selling nylon manja only after the order of the High Court. A Joint Central Committee of Police and Corporation’s troubleshooting squads has been constituted, While the work on this is still going on.
Medical Machinery Ready
The squads have so far recovered around 2867 plastic kites, 55 nylon manjhas, and a fine of Rs.65,000/-. But still, it has been seen that the sale of plastic kites and manjha is still going on in many markets. For this reason, very strict action should be taken in all these zones, Mahajan said.
In view of these potential dangers, he has also asked to keep the medical machinery ready in these cities.
He has also said that preparations are fully prepared in GMCH, AIIMS, and Mayo Hospital as well as NMC. And NMC’s KT Nagar Nagarik PHC, Indira Gandhi Hospital, Ayush Hospital, Pachpaoli Hospital, and Isolation Hospital have been asked to start very soon. Apart from this, OPD is also being started at the Nagpur University of RTM. Dr. Sanjay Chilkar has stated that NMC has enough oxygen and medicines.
