Congress leader, seven others booked in Ghatanji

The police on Monday arrested six people named in the complaints under sections 143, 147, 148, 294, 323, 506 and 34 of the IPC.

Yavatmal: On the complaint of a disabled unmarried Banjara woman, the Ghatanji police registered a case against a close aide of both MPCC president Nana Patole and state general secretary of Congress Devanand Pawar, their brother and district panchayat teacher Sahebrao Pawar and six of their associates. And PSO Sushama Baviskar has also said on this that Simple Pawar, a resident of village Dattapur, had also accused the eight of using obscene language against him and threatening to kill him.

The police on Monday arrested six people named in the complaints under sections 143, 147, 148, 294, 323, 506 and 34 of the IPC.

“The complainant is about 67% disabled. We have registered a case against eight people including Devanand Pawar and his brother Sahabrao Pawar,” Baviskar said add that six accused were arrested and released on bail after furnishing personal bonds.

Head constable Vinod Meshram is engaged in the investigation of the entire matter.

Meanwhile, Devendra Pawar and his men had filed a rioting complaint against a dozen residents of the village as well. “We served notices to Simple Pawar and others and called them to the police station to record their statements,” Baviskar told TOI on Tuesday, adding that none of them have come forward so far.

Two major groups of the Congress party continue to result

The disabled woman also addressed a press conference on Sunday and has also said that there is a great danger to her life from the group led by Devanand Pawar. “I am in great need of security as I am a handicapped single woman,” Saral said, Adding to the group, he can be attacked any time and his cousin Raju Rathod, who is a hostel warden in a tribal government hostel, can be seriously harmed.

API Sushama Baviskar said, “Controversies between the two major groups of the Congress party continue to result.”

Devanand Pawar was already on the radar of the police and his name was also considered for deportation, but the proposal was dropped. Baviskar had also said on this that if the law and order situation remains bad, then she can expel some of them as well.
