NMC intends to provide better roads ahead of civic polls

Prakash while talking to media persons has said that the standing committee has given administrative approval for carpeting of tar roads once again and for concretization of 4 roads in this entire city itself.

Nagpur: The chairman of the standing committee of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) named Prakash Bhoyar. He said on Friday that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party intends to provide good roads ahead of the civic polls in the city in early 2022.

Prakash while talking to media persons has said that the standing committee has given administrative approval for carpeting of tar roads once again and for concretization of 4 roads in this entire city itself.

It has also said that 25 proposals (mostly related to these roads) were submitted by the civil administration. Bhoyar has also said that the panel has given administrative approval for works up to about Rs 11.62 crore. The panel has also fully approved the tender for various works up to Rs 10.42 crore.

NMC earned Rs 111.42 crore

Bhoyar reviewed the income of Nagpur Municipal Corporation for about 7 months. And expressed satisfaction over the earnings from different departments including water works, property tax, advertising and town planning departments. He has also said that the wealth tax department has earned more than Rs 17 crore revenue as compared to the last financial year. Similarly, the Town Planning Department has also performed very well this year as compared to the last financial year.

Till this year till date, Nagpur Municipal Corporation has earned around Rs 111.42 crore. Whereas in the last year it was only up to Rs 10 crore.

Bhoyar has expressed grief over the very poor recovery by the Estate Department. He has said that against the recovery of about Rs 2.09 crore in the year 2020-21, the department has only withdrawn about Rs 81.61 lakh so far this year.

Prakash has also said that during his tenure of 8 months. The permanent panel has given administrative approval to works worth about Rs 61.82 crore. While the issuance of tenders up to Rs 93.61 crore has been given the green signal.
