2 turn saviours for accident victim when most others looked other way

Shaikh regained consciousness some 24 hours after being shifted to the hospital by two youths - Mohammad Ali Khan and Anil Bhalavi, when most people looked away.

NAGPUR: Farhanuddin Shaikh, a 28-year-old pharmacist, was on his way to his shop in Kamathi when he met with an accident on Ring Road in Mankapur and fell unconscious on the morning of April 28.

Shaikh regained consciousness some 24 hours after being shifted to the hospital by two youths – Mohammad Ali Khan and Anil Bhalavi, when most people looked away.

While Farhanuddin Shaikh has absolutely no memory of those nearly 24 hours, He is also unaware of a very noble rescue act by two passer-by youths, who took him to the hospital when he did not come forward to help.

On April 28, Shaikh collided with an elderly rider coming from the opposite direction on the Ring Road. The elderly rider was driving on the wrong side of the road.

Locals also complained that there are many open gaps on the divider at a distance of about 2 km on the Mankapur Ring Road, and two-wheeler riders shamelessly speed in the wrong direction.

Relatives of the elderly man took him away but left Farhanuddin Shaikh behind

Although Farhanuddin Shaikh was also wearing a helmet, due to the very severe impact, he has suffered serious injuries on his face. The leg of the elderly rider has been fractured, while his pillar rider has fled from the spot.

An unconscious Farhanuddin Shaikh has been left to the mercy of strangers. Mohd Ali Khan, a civil engineer resident of Mahesh Nagar, and Anil Bhalvi, a laborer resident of Zingabai Takli, have immediately given notice that no one is ready to help Farhanuddin Shaikh in any way. Relatives of the elderly man took him away but left Farhanuddin Shaikh behind.

“No one was coming forward to help Farhanuddin Shaikh at all. Luckily, a two-wheeler rider had stopped and helped us take him to the hospital as well. Anil also joined in this. We checked his two-wheeler and found his Aadhaar card. I have Googled the address on the Aadhaar card and searched his house for more than an hour. His mobile was locked. We showed a picture from his wallet to a shop owner who identified Farhanuddin Shaikh,” Ali said.

The shopkeeper turned out to be Farhanuddin Shaikh’s relative and took him to his home.
