The cricket boards of the both countries are in talks related to this. Now, Indian team is leading 2-1 in this match series.
BCCI Secretary Jay Shah said
(BCCI) Board of Control for Cricket in India Secretary Jay Shah said in a statement issued on Friday that, ‘The ECB and the Indian Board are planning to organize the 5th Test match of the canceled cricket series once again.
Will definitely work in that direction. and there will be no compromise on the safety of all the players of the team. and in this statement it has also been said that, ‘Due to the very good relationship between the BCCI Board of Control for Cricket in India.
The ECB, the Indian Board has canceled this Test match (5th Test of the series in Manchester) is offered to be organized in the coming time. Both India and England boards will definitely work towards finding a right window to reschedule this Test cricket match.
Jay Shah has also given a statement that, ‘BCCI has said every turn that the safety and well-being of all players is and will remain paramount and there will be no compromise on this matter. We would like to sincerely apologize to all the fans for not being able to complete this exciting and good Test series.
England and Wales Cricket Board Statement
Earlier, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has said that, ‘After all the ongoing talks with the BCCI, the ECB can now make it clear that now this fifth cricket Test between India and England at Old Trafford will be held. The match has been cancelled.
It is expected that Indian team can play this 5th Test match in England during the limited overs series in the coming new year. and if this happens, then all the fans will have to wait till the coming new year for the correct result of this series.
After India team head coach Ravi Shastri and bowling coach Bharat Arun, after assistant physio Yogesh Parmar tested positive for Covid-19, all the players were now under threat.
The ECB has also said that, ‘Keeping in mind the increasing cases of Kovid-19 in the team. India is not able to field its team at all. According to BCCI sources, the report of the test of covid-19 of all the players came negative,
but all the players will be in isolation for 10 days in case the next Covid-19 test comes positive. Didn’t want to take the risk of living at all. In such a situation, it has been decided to cancel this 5th Test match.
