Nagpur Municipal Corporation proposes 5-fold hike in school rent from December 2018

Nagpur: NMC Nagpur Municipal Corporation Education Department has proposed to increase the monthly rent of a school by 5 times with effect from 1st December 2018. The Standing Committee will take its decision on the proposal in its meeting to be held on 22nd December.
After the election of the council, the chairman of the standing committee whose name is Prakash Bhoyar. This is the first meeting called by him. As per the proposal submitted by the Department of Education, Nagpur Municipal Corporation runs the Pension Nagar Urdu School in a building owned by Ahbab Cooperative Housing Society, Zafar Nagar.
According to the information received from the department, the current fare is around Rs 10,885. After the demand of rent hikes by the society, the education department has sought rates from the town planning department at the rate of about Rs 87,344 per month. The Department of Education negotiated with the society and fixed around Rs 50,000 per month.
As per the proposal, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation will pay the revised rent to the society with effect from the date of December 1, 2018. Nagpur Municipal Corporation sources have said that this is probably the first time that the fares are being revised with retrospective effect.
NMC issued public notice
A large number of Nagpur Municipal Corporation school buildings are lying vacant. Many have been allotted for different works. While others have been allotted to several social and trust organizations. The city body has continued to run the Urdu school in rented premises, On which questions are also being raised.
Nagpur Municipal Corporation has also issued a public notice to declare the area within a radius of about 100 meters from Gautam Primary School located in Sujata Nagar of Ashi Nagar zone as a silence zone. The civic body has sought suggestions and objections within about 30 days.
The Standing Committee will also take a decision on the proposal to appoint Prafulv Infra Private Limited to complete the construction of Metro Mall well. The company has offered to give around Rs 55.58 crore to Nagpur Municipal Corporation.
The Metro Mall project is the first of Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s ambitious London/Orange City Street project. The project is planned adjacent to the metro station of Jaiprakash Nagar. Nagpur Municipal Corporation has already constructed the basement parking level by incorporating the Maha metro. The company will complete the project, Will also earn from it, and will also pay the premium, etc. to Nagpur Municipal Corporation.
