And this month 8 more flights are going to land in Nagpur.
3 international passengers who tested coronavirus positive have entered the city from Delhi and Mumbai. 1 of them – a 40-year-old man – has now been confirmed as an Omicron virus patient and along with 2 others has also been admitted to the special ward of AIIMS Nagpur.
With the inclusion of Sunday, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has tested around 400 passengers for coronavirus infection. It is a huge relief for passengers to disembark directly into the city amid the fear of the Omicron virus and then test negative.
Nagpur Municipal Corporation is monitoring all these passengers and it is also being said that they are doing very well.

Ram Joshi Additional Municipal Commissioner has said that the passengers landing directly in the city should be tested on the 8th day of arrival. They have also been asked to submit the negative RT-PCR report. If they want to get tested inside the centre, then the zonal medical teams are also helping them a lot. And a list of about 600 other international travelers was provided by the Bureau of Immigration. And those who could be traced have been asked to test. Many of those passengers have tested positive.
The Nagpur Municipal Corporation has also sent the samples of all these passengers to the National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune for genome sequencing.
Ram has said that some people have never come to the city after entering the country, But they were in other cities when they were called by the civilian teams. All these passengers also had permanent residence in Nagpur and due to this, the local body had been alerted.
A regional medical officer also said that many passengers have left Nagpur as per their original travel plan. Keeping a constant check on a negative test is quite difficult, although the norms also mandate a seven-day home quarantine.
