NU discontinues LLM, BA, MA, courses for external students

Nagpur: The decision of the University of Nagpur to stop popular distance education courses for working professionals like BA, MA, and LLM along Extra BA has led to the teachers, common citizens and a section of the students have been greatly disturbed.

Officials said the students are still enrolled in the Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU) and Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). One can pursue these same courses only from distance learning institutions like K.K. At present any university graduate can do the postgraduate courses from NU.
The decision to cancel these courses was first taken in the Board of Examination and Evaluation meeting held on November 11 last year. This was confirmed by the Academic Council on the date of 25 January, Whereas the approval of the Management Council came on the date of 4 February.
Some working professionals, especially contributory teachers and lawyers, who pursued these courses alongside their own jobs, were Very upset with NU’s decision. Some lawyers have pointed out that for law graduates, this was a very flexible arrangement Because he cannot attend regular classes at all while doing this exercise.
