Family members of deceased
According to these figures available with the Fire and Emergency Services Department of Nagpur Municipal Corporation, this is the worst case of fire in the history of this district. “I do not remember at all any other incident of this horrific fire in which more than 2 people have been killed. In the year 2016, there was 1 very dangerous industrial explosion in 1 pharmaceutical company in Kempty Road, in which 12 persons were killed. But this fire was not the main reason at all. It seems to me that most of the deaths due to this fire have happened in the incident of Wadi Hospital itself.” he said.
Wadi Municipal Council sources have told that neither the collector’s office nor the government nor the hospital has given any compensation to the families of all these deaths.
Despite this closure notice issued by the District Civil Surgeon (CS) and the direction of the Wadi Municipal Council to demolish the building, this hospital is still operational.
According to the notice of Wadi Municipal Council, this building is not approved at all and there is a severe lack of fire NOC and system. According to Civil Surgeon, the validity of the certificate given to operate the hospital has also expired.
