Committed to provide funds for the development of Nagpur: Ajit Pawar

Ajit Pawar had also sanctioned about Rs 3 crore for various works including laying of sewer line, the concretization of road, and renovation of Prem Nagar NIT garden.

Nagpur: Ajit Pawar, Deputy Chief Minister,  said on Friday that the NCP, Which is also a constituent of MVA’s government in the state, will continue to fully provide funds for development works in Nagpur city.

He was also speaking during the inauguration of development works worth about Rs 2.3 crore in Prem Nagar and Shanti Nagar (in East Nagpur Assembly constituency) including cement roads, renovation of gardens, etc. Which is also completely under the control of former independent councilor Abha Pandey. Abha Pande had also recently joined the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and is also its state general secretary.

Along with this, Ajit Pawar had also sanctioned about Rs 3 crore for various works including laying of sewer line, the concretization of road, and renovation of Prem Nagar NIT garden. It was only when Abha Pande had joined the Nationalist Congress Party that he provided funds from his own discretionary quota.

Abha Pande also got the amount well approved by the District Planning and Development Committee. And according to him, this was also a very long pending demand of the residents for decades.

East Nagpur is underdeveloped

Out of about Rs 3 crore, Abha Pande has said that around Rs 70 lakh has not been spent at all. Abha Pande also said that East Nagpur is completely underdeveloped and he has also urged Ajit Pawar to provide more funds for this area. And along with this, Ajit Pawar has also asked him to give a list of the work to be done. He has also said that if needed, more amounts will definitely be allocated.

Along with this, the Deputy Chief Minister has also said that Nationalist Congress Party is keen to increase its presence in Nagpur as well and will work in the same direction.

City president of NCP social justice wing Vishal Khandekar, Nationalist Congress Party local leaders, Home minister Dilip Walse Patil, including city president Duneshwar Pethe, Shrikant Shivankar, and others were also present here.
