Senate members criticize NU for vacant seats in its PG departments

Nagpur: On Thursday Senate members of Nagpur University continued their veiled attack accusing the administration of indirectly helping private colleges fill their postgraduate seats.

In most of the meetings these two days, these issues related to students have not been discussed at all. “Personal Agenda” Many members were concerned with. And the administration also complained about it,

NU Physics Department lecturer named Omprakash Chimankar. He has earlier stated that the administration had conducted a Centralized Admission Process (CAP) for only 40 of its departments except these affiliated colleges. He has said that in the last year, the university had included the affiliated colleges in the CAP. Because of which all the students got a lot of help.

Responding Discussions to Vice-Chancellor

Other members have also pointed out that NU also started its CAP very late and by that time, admissions in private colleges were completely filled.

Senior member whose name is Rajesh Bhoyar. He has said that if private colleges are benefiting from this expenditure of NU. Then the administration should introspect on why all the students have preferred admission there despite incidents of exploitation and exorbitant fees. It has also said that the affiliated colleges cannot be held responsible at all for the vacant seats inside the university. He come from Wardha to Nagpur to attend college. The department heads now need to think about why all the students have turned their backs on NU.

Responding to these discussions, the Vice-Chancellor whose name is Subhash Chaudhari. He has said that it was the decision of the Management Council to organize the CAP for the NU departments.

Some members have also told after this meeting that top private colleges were charging lakhs in donations from these students because there was a lot of delay in the CAP of NU. He has also said that all the students were forced to run from one college to another too much.
