Farmer of village of Yavatmal gave consent to organ donation of son

Nagpur: A farmer from village Mahakalpur in Wani tehsil of district Yavatmal has taken a bold decision to donate the organ of his 20-year-old son, who was killed in a road accident recently.
Shubham Bothale used to work in a private firm and had met with an accident on the 3rd of December while driving a two-wheeler. He was shifted to New Era Hospital in Nagpur on the same day even after providing first aid at the hospital located in Yavatmal district. And here the doctors also tried their best, but the injury in Bothale head was so serious that he could not be saved. A team of specialist doctors has declared him brain dead on the date of 6th December.
Even after initial consultation by Dr. Ashwini Choudhry, Bothale’s father Umesh, his brother Prashant and the rest of the family members have given their consent to donate his liver and kidney. And being a medico-legal case, the postmortem has also been done.
A kidney of the deceased Bothale gave a new life to a kidney failure 12-year-old patient of the city. While the other has been implanted in a 63-year-old man. And New Era Hospital where the patient was admitted and died due to head injury, has led because liver and kidney transplant was done there. And a kidney has also been taken to Kingsway Hospital. An honor corridor was also created by New Era Hospital to salute this organ donor’s family and their decision.
Dr. Vibhavari Dani has said that awareness about the noble cause of organ donation can also be seen in the rural population which is a very good thing. And the much-awaited lung, heart, and pancreas transplant should also be done in Nagpur.
President of the ZTCC (Zonal Transplant Coordination Center), through which the entire organ transplant process is coordinated.
