43,336 fine for not wearing masks in 16 months, Rs 2 crore fine
Nuisance Investigation Team Commandant Virsen Tambe has said that the Nuisance Investigation Team of NMC has penalized about 43,336 citizens for not wearing face masks in the last nearly 16 months (from September 2020 to January 13, 2022).
Nagpur: In irresponsible Nagpurians, Repeated appeals to wear face masks and rising coronavirus cases have completely failed to rein. The NDS of NMC has recovered a fine of around Rs 2 crore from Nagpurites found guilty of not wearing face masks in the last nearly 16 months. As of Thursday, the Nuisance Investigation Team has punished around 67 citizens for the crime and also collected a fine of around Rs 33,500.

General Physician Dr. Sanjeeb Ukil has told that at a time when corona cases are increasing at an alarming rate, Distancing and adherence to face masks are the most important tools that can help reduce cases.
Sanjeeb has said that it is very disappointing to see everyone roaming around without masks or not following social distancing at all, at a time when the city is facing another spike in corona cases.
Administrative Building Civil Lines
Citizens should understand the importance of wearing masks. According to him, people should also remember that in the last two waves of covid, this virus has destroyed lakhs of families. Follow COVID-appropriate behavior religiously, he said.
The data obtained from the Nagpur Municipal Corporation revealed that the highest number of citizens defying the face mask rule were from Dharampeth (5,792) and Laxmi Nagar (6,051) areas.
Even residents moving out in Mangalwari (4,304) and Hanuman Nagar (4,321) areas have earned the dubious distinction of not wearing face masks.
The team of Nuisance Investigation Team has apprehended around 424 civilians in its administrative building in Civil Lines, Most of whom were Nagpur Municipal Corporation employees. Virsen has stated that she has also imposed a fine of over Rs 2 lakh. Denial of any mercy on the part of the nuisance investigation team to those who violate the fair treatment of the coronavirus.
