Striking workers resume door-to-door garbage collection
Deputy Municipal Commissioner Dr. Gajendra Mahalle has also informed that the strike was called off on Friday after the Nagpur municipal corporation's ultimatum to the operator and its striking employees.
Nagpur: After almost two days of strike, AG Enviro employees are back on duty on Friday. And collected the garbage from door to door from all these affected areas – Hanuman Nagar, Dhantoli, Laxmi Nagar, Dharmpeth, and Nehru Nagar.
Deputy Municipal Commissioner Dr. Gajendra Mahalle has also informed that the strike was called off on Friday after the Nagpur municipal corporation’s ultimatum to the operator and its striking employees.
Along with this, accusing the officials of AG Enviro of too many atrocities, the employees who picked up the garbage from door to door in Nehru Nagar and Hanuman Nagar circles went on strike on Wednesday. And then after a day, the employees of Dhantoli, Dharampeth, and Laxmi Nagar had also joined the strike, due to which door to door collection of garbage was completely stopped in only half of Nagpur.
NMC Solid Waste Management Department’s instructions to both these companies
With, this was the second strike in almost a month. And Municipal Commissioner Radhakrishan B had expressed great displeasure over the continuous strike by the employees of these two garbage collection companies.
Deputy Municipal Commissioner Dr. Gajendra Mahalle has also said that the striking employees have falsely accused the firm of mixing garbage and sand. In fact, he was very angry with the Nagpur municipal corporation’s Solid Waste Management Department’s instructions to both these companies to stop their own employees from keeping separate bags for recyclable waste. He has said that it was this move that completely stopped his extra income, and that is why he went on strike.
The official has also said that AG Enviro will be fined for not picking up garbage at all from half the city.
