Tiger kills shepherd in WCL area

Chandrapur: A shepherd has died in a tiger attack and his body was found in a drain flowing through the area of WCL near Sinala village on the outskirts of the city on Saturday morning.

Dashrath Pendor was grazing cattle in the forest near his village under Durgapur Beat of Chandrapur range on Friday. Then in the evening when he did not return home, the villagers then informed the forest workers and then started searching for him along with the local guards. But by no means was any benefit at all. The search was started again in the morning and his body was found in a flowing drain near the village.
The forest department has been monitoring the very large Wagdoh tiger of Tadoba for a long time, which has migrated to the forest around Durgapur mines since the first week of the month. The tiger was repeatedly seen by the villagers passing over the WCL mines and very close to the village.
Tiger responsible for the murder
A lot of WCL workers had also seen two tigers in the drain flowing through the WCL area near Sinala in the morning. And along with this the partially eaten body of Pandor was also found in a ditch of the same drain.
Forest officials have also warned people not to go into the forests at all regarding the presence of tigers. Along with this, they have also installed camera traps around the murder site to identify the tiger responsible for the murder.
In the same year, this 16th human murder has taken place in a hunter attack. Of these, tigers have claimed 11 victims, While leopards have also taken the lives of five people. Even before this, the poachers had also killed 39 people last year.
