ACB arrested two accused taking bribe of Rs 29,500
Accused assistant police inspector (API) Milind Paradkar (28) and constable Sanju Ratankar (27) had allegedly demanded a bribe of around Rs 36,000 from a former illicit liquor seller In the name of PSO of Lathi police station.
Chandrapur: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested constable Sanju Ratankar (27) and assistant police inspector (API) Milind Paradkar (28) from Lathi police station while taking a bribe of about Rs 29,500 in the evening hours of Monday.
Both the accused assistant police inspector (API) Milind Paradkar (28) and constable Sanju Ratankar (27) had allegedly demanded a bribe of around Rs 36,000 from a former illicit liquor seller. In the name of PSO which belongs to the Lathi police station. So that he can continue his illegal activities without stopping.
Sources have also told that the complainant is a resident of Podsa village of Gondpipri tehsil. And once in the time of prohibition inside the district, he was involved in illegal liquor business even earlier. However, he has left this business. And after the lifting of the ban on alcohol, were focusing on agriculture.
Searched his house
Constable Ratankar had searched inside his house several times. Alleging that he was involved in this illegal liquor business. Ratankar was allegedly motivating her to continue with this liquor business. And the police station officer and demanded a bribe of a about Rs 18,000 per month for allowing himself to continue this liquor business without stopping. And he had demanded about Rs 36,000 a ‘hafta’ for 2 months.
6,500 was paid by the complainant. But the complaint was lodged in Anti-Corruption Bureau Chandrapur. And then on the basis of the complaint, the Deputy Superintendent of Anti-Corruption Bureau. Whose name is Avinash Bhambre, laid a trap and caught constable Sanju Ratankar and (API) assistant police inspector Milind Paradkar at the same time while taking bribe.
A case has been registered against both the accused. Constable Sanju Ratankar and assistant police inspector (API) Milind Paradkar under relevant sections of the Anti-Corruption Act inside the Lathi police station, where they both used to work.
