Actor Akshay Kumar was all set to walk the red carpet at Cannes 2022. He was one of the few Indian celebrities to be part of the Indian delegation to the Cannes Film Festival on 17 May. The delegation was led by Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur. However, actor Akshay Kumar will not be a part of the delegation at all Because the actor has tested positive for COVID-19 three days before he walked the red carpet at the prestigious film festival representing the country of India.
On Saturday night’s Sanjay actor Akshay Kumar wrote on his Twitter handle, “Was really looking forward to rooting for our cinema at the India Pavilion at #Cannes2022, but have sadly tested positive for Covid. Will rest it out. Loads of best wishes to you and your entire team, @ianuragthakur. Will really miss being there.”

R Madhavan is also going to attend the film festival for his upcoming film ‘Rocketry – The Nambi Effect’. Simultaneously, as part of the celebration of India as an official country in the Cannes market this year, the film’s world premiere is scheduled to take place in Cannes on 19 May. Simultaneously, the biographical drama was shot simultaneously in several languages including Hindi, Tamil and English. In which the English version was shown in Cannes. The theatrical release is scheduled for July 1 and will also include Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada versions.
