AIIMS Nagpur has offered help not only to the patients but also to the Radiology PG students
Director and CEO of All India Institute of Medical Sciences Nagpur District Major General named Dr. Vibha Dutta has stated that advanced MRI facilities are still available in AIIMS.
Nagpur: Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Nagpur, following a protest by citizens and social organizations for a non-functional MRI machine in the Radiology Department of the (AIIMS) All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Nagpur district has offered to help not only the patients Also all Radiology PG students.
Director and CEO of All India Institute of Medical Sciences Nagpur District Major General named Dr. Vibha Dutta. He has stated that advanced MRI facilities are still available in AIIMS. Dr. Vibha Dutta has said that “every single patient can go to AIIMS and can easily avail advanced treatment facilities along with MRI. They can also easily save the cost of getting the MRI done in a private setup now.”
Dr. Vibha Dutta has said that PG students of Government Medical College and Hospital Radiology Department can also come to All India Institute of Medical Sciences for practical training. They are still missing due to the non-availability of the machine.
Dr. Datta also said that the Radiology Department of All India Institute of Medical Sciences has limited manpower. Every single PG student of Government Medical College and Hospital can easily participate in this. Because of this, both the patients and the students will be greatly benefited.
Long Academic Relationship
All India Institute of Medical Sciences is now fully geared up to collaborate with Government Medical College and Hospital at the academic level. This is also very much possible as AIIMS and Government Medical College and Hospital also have a very long academic relationship. In the year 2018, All India Institute of Medical Sciences started from the premises of Government Medical College and Hospital before shifting to its state-of-the-art campus at Mihan. At present, AIIMS has full OPD, IPD, and some departments also work here. The daily number of patients is more than 1,500 and people from all the adjoining states as well as many adjoining states are coming to AIIMS on a daily basis.
AIIMS also has the most advanced cath lab in central India for cardiac related procedures. Some new facilities are under construction as well as additions. After which the hospital will have more than 750 beds equipped with all the necessary facilities.
At present, ICU-like surveillance and call system is also installed in the beds of the general wards of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences. Since home isolation is not allowed in the Nagpur district at all, all coronavirus patients in the NMC area are admitted only in the coronavirus ward of AIIMS. With city buses and metro, it is very easy to reach the All India Institute of Medical Sciences from any part of the city.
