Legislature Secretary Rajendra Bhagwat informed that both Gorhe and Narvekar will meet top officials here to discuss the preparations.
Nagpur: Before the winter session of the Legislative Assembly to be held from the date of 19 December, the Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Council Neelam Gorhe, and President Rahul Narvekar will visit the city on the date of 15 November to review the preparations.
According to ministry officials, Speaker Ramraje Nimbalkar will not be with him at all due to some other commitments. Due to the Covid-19 epidemic, the session could not be held at all in the city for more than two years.
Legislature Secretary Rajendra Bhagwat also informed that both Gorhe and Narvekar will meet top officials here to discuss the preparations.
“We will also hold a meeting with division commissioner Vijayalakshmi Bidari, commissioner of police Amitesh Kumar, collector Dr Vipin Itankar, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) commissioner Radhakrishnan B, Zilla Parishad chief executive officer (CEO) Yogesh Kumbhejkar and public works department (PWD) officials. Various issues will also be discussed,” they said.
New coating will be done to welcome the guests coming from all over the state
Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has already indicated that the session will continue for two weeks till the date of 30 December and if the opposition supports the government, It will be extended for another week even as it spreads into the new year.
According to the district administration officials, preparations are also going on for the restoration of other government buildings including Ravi Bhavan, Nag Bhavan, and MLA Hostel. In which a new coating will be done to welcome the guests coming from all over the state.
“We have prepared an estimate of around Rs 95 crore, and tenders have been floated for various civic works. Since this will be the first plenary session of the BJP-Shiv Sena (Balasaheb) government led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Fadnavis, many issues including bills will be discussed. After a gap of about two years, we will have a lot of work to do.” They said.
