Drunk thief admitted to stealing bike, forgets where he hid them

Nagpur: The Mankapur police team was left confused after admitting to a series of crimes committed by a 35-year-old bike thief identified as Pravesh Kangale, but the alcoholic could not remember where he had left them.
The Pravesh Kangale stole the bike with the master keys but never disposed of them at all. He used to sell only two-wheeler batteries to buy liquor and drop the vehicle anywhere. Mankapur police had also arrested him on November 1 on the basis of CCTV footage.
After Pravesh Kangale remembered some similar places where he had left the stolen bike, A team of asst PIs Mangala Mokashe and Vilas Patil, senior PI Vaijayanti Mandodhawde also recovered about eight two-wheelers from Hingna, Katol, and Mankapur police station areas.

“Kangle belongs to a very good family but has become a thief due to his addiction to alcohol. He lived like a vagabond at a Dhaba on Hingna Road.” senior PI Vaijayanti Mandodhawde said adding that he has been identified on the basis of CCTV footage, in which he had fled with a stolen bike from Zenda Chowk only last month.
It is also learned that Pravesh Kangale showed about 15 places but could not remember where he had left the two-wheeler. Hingna police also want his custody in the case of bike theft. Senior PI Vaijayanti Mandodhawde said so, whose investigation was supervised by Zonal DCP Sandeep Pakhale and ACP Vijayalakshmi Hiremath.
The Mankapur police team of Assistant Sub-Inspector Sunil Dogwal, Pravin Bhoge, Anup Yadav, and NPC Vijay Yadav is trying to recover the stolen two-wheeler in coordination with their counterparts from other police stations.
