From December 15, only the separated garbage will be picked up

If the operators continue to carry the garbage to Bhandewadi without plowing, then they will be fined Rs 100 for each trip. And citizens found dumping the garbage will also be fined as per the rules of the Solid Waste Management Department.
According to the Nagpur Municipal Corporation, bio-degradable materials such as flowers, leaves, fruits and vegetables, and kitchen waste are also called wet waste and dry waste like glass, metal, plastic, paper, aluminum foil, etc.
Increase in dumping of waste
The civic body has appealed to all citizens to keep battery cells, paint cans, diapers, sanitary napkins, disinfectants, chemical sprays, empty medicine bottles used for the elderly, and children at home. It will be collected separately, said Dr. Gajendra Mahelle, nodal officer of the Solid Waste Management Department.
Earlier also Nagpur Municipal Corporation had announced such a scheme. Dr. Gajendra stated that this could not be implemented as there was no segregation at the source in any way. Even though this garbage van was adapted to collect wet and dry waste separately. That the Safai Karamcharis, citizens, and employees of 2 firms had not followed the orders even then.
Dr. Gajendra also said that the firms have already started awareness campaigns in each of the 10 sectors. He has also said that residents should keep bins in homes for wet and dry waste. And these firms will also have to ensure that they are collected separately and also delivered to Bhandewadi.
On the possible increase in dumping of waste in open spaces, Dr. Gajendra has said that the Solid Waste Management Department team and nuisance detection squad will also penalize such citizens.
On the date of December 3 also, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation had also warned BVG India and AG Enviro to either dump the segregated waste in Bhandewadi Dumping Yard or punish it. Dr. Gajendra has also said that arrangements have also been made to dump dry and wet waste in Bhandewadi. The city also generates up to 1,100 metric tons of waste, of which 40% is dry and 60% is wet.
