3 suspected cold wave deaths on city streets

Nagpur:  On Monday police of the city have reported 2 deaths of senior citizens found on the streets of the city without any warm cover. The police have said that there is a clear possibility that both the deaths were due to severe cold wave in the last two days.

On Monday In one case an unidentified man in his 60s was found motionless on the footpath in Jagnath Budhwari, Whilst the city was also experiencing a cold wave with a temperature of around 7.6 degrees Celsius. And then later he was declared dead at IGGMCH.

According to the police officer, the youth seemed weak and hungry. And he didn’t have any cover or blanket. Along with this, it also seemed that this man had died of hunger and was out in the cold Because that person did not have any warm blanket or cover on the road.

Case of accidental death

Tehsil police have sent the body for post-mortem and a case of accidental death has been registered.

Earlier on the same day, 65-year-old Waman Sawale was found dead on the footpath near Model Mill’s Chowk. The police of Ganeshpeth have also sent the body of the deceased to Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital for postmortem. Registered a case of accidental death. The police officer also said that they cannot at all rule out Sawale’s death due to the cold wave.

On the date of December 14, another elderly woman was found in an unconscious state near Gandhi Chowk in Sadar. She was admitted to Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital by Sadar’s police. Where she has declared brought dead on Monday. The police officer has said that she too was weak and there was no warm cover of any kind on her. A case of accidental death has also been registered at Sadar police station.
