In Koradi, One-act plays through the night today
This most unique initiative has been taken by Kalavaibhav Group, Abhinay Katta Group, and friends of theater activist Someshwar Balpande.
Nagpur: A very unique theater festival will be seen on Saturday at the entertainment center number 2 of Koradi Thermal Power Station Colony. About ten theater groups from Koradi and Nagpur will perform one play each, starting from 7.30 pm on Sundays till 5.30 am.
This most unique initiative has been taken by Kalavaibhav Group, Abhinay Katta Group, and friends of theater activist Someshwar Balpande. Who had died due to coronavirus on the date of 23 April last year.
For the first time after almost 20 years, an overnight theater festival is also being held in Nagpur. One of the organizers of the same festival, remembers Devendra Dodke, the most stalwart of theatre, About 25 years ago he used to perform one-act play competitions in the temple of Dhanwate Rang Mandir during the nighttime. They are also looking forward to the latest edition of the Night Theater Festival as well. That’s why they invite all theater lovers to Koradi.
Another organizer Shankar Shankhapale has also said that he is very keen to revive theater activities after the coronavirus.
Prominent theater groups will also be performing
He has said that amateur and the experimental theater was at a complete standstill for the last almost 2 years. They also lost a great artist like Someshwar Balpande to coronavirus. He was the one who initiated the theater activity in Koradi. They also used to conduct workshops, as well as train young artists. And Koradi also used to present many of the most important plays. Then they were also planning to organize some of the most unique events in his memory.
In Nagpur too, about ten of the most prominent theater groups will also be performing their award-winning one-act plays. Actor Vaidehi Chaware has said that her game is about to start around 2.30 pm. He has never performed at all at the same time. Very exciting.
MLC Chandrashekhar Bawankule will inaugurate the festival at around 6 pm on Saturday.

Starts at 7.30 in the evening on Saturday and ends at 5.30 in the morning on Sunday
Ten award-winning singles will be staged
100 actors, directors, and 200 theater lovers will stay together overnight
