It was a long wait for the Nagpurians to see the Aqua Line getting inaugurated by the Prime Minister and the State Chief Mr. Thackreay who all joined the city via video conference to inaugurate the said route. The city has waited for more than 144 days since it was ready to use after the tests carried out by the Maha Metro team. As the PM kicked off the Maha Metro on the said line, it was a gala event for the people of Nagpur.
The 11 KM Maha Metro was inaugurated sharp at 10.30 and people were seen boarding the Metro which started its journey for the 11 km stretch from Subhash Nagar going towards the scenic locations of Ambazhari and then to Nag River before it stopped at Gandhisagar. The others who joined the show included Hardeep Singh Puri along with others like the Union Minister for Roads and Highway Mr. Nitin Gadkari was also present.
The first commercial run over Aqua Line was seen starting at 2 pm on Tuesday onwards that moved the train from 8 am to 8 pm. This will help the commuters of Nagpur to travel on the said line and thus save time a lot. Various city politicians were also present and they extended their greeting to the Nagpur people for presenting the Aqua line that got delayed yet delivered.
