Nagpur registers 29 new coronavirus cases, region 63
For the first time since the end of February, more than 5,000 tests have been conducted across the region on Friday. With 63 new covid cases, the covid test positivity rate was only a little over 1%.
Nagpur: Vidarbha region has reported a sudden spike in coronavirus cases on Friday. 11 districts of this region together have detected 63 new covid patients. Most of the – 43 – were found in Nagpur district itself, where Nagpur city has seen a sharp rise in 29 new coronavirus cases. Most of the cases are detected through random testing and testing of passengers at the city airport.

Only seven covid patients have recovered including one each from Yavatmal and Bhandara and five from Nagpur. With fewer recoveries and more covid cases, the number of patients under treatment has increased to 166. As per the latest information, only two of them have been hospitalized, While other patients are recovering in home isolation.
Except for Gadchiroli and Yavatmal, all other districts of the Vidarbha region reported new covid cases on Friday. Four each in Chandrapur, Wardha, and Washim, two in Buldhana, three in Amravati, and one each in Bhandara and Akola. Covid cases have come to the fore. Gondia has reported a case of covid ending its month-long covid-free tenure.
Still, active cases have been found in all the districts of the Vidarbha region. Just a week ago, no ‘under-treatment’ patients were found in at least five Covid districts.
No death has been reported during the last nearly three weeks, While there has been no significant increase in hospitalizations at all, It also suggests that the current upside could be significantly reduced within a few weeks.
In district Nagpur also, out of 43 new patients detected after 2,326 tests were done in the last 24 hours, 29 were from the city itself, 11 were also from rural Nagpur while three are patients from other states/divisions. The number of covid patients under treatment in the district has crossed the 100 mark – 67 in Nagpur city too, 32 in rural (district area), and three from other states.
