Neighbor raped mentally challenged 8-year-old girl

Nagpur: An eight-year-old mentally challenged girl was taken to the GMCH on Sunday after she was raped by a 42-year-old neighbor, whom he called uncle. Suresh Lokhande, a juice and tea stall vendor, was immediately taken into custody by the Imambara police officials as the girl’s mother had called him a criminal.
There were also several moments of worry for the city police after they got information about raping a minor from a highly sensitive area. To avoid any stampede, the police officer had made precautionary security arrangements.
Police sources have said that the victim girl was playing in front of her residence. Then Suresh called that girl to invite him to his house. It is also learned that Suresh, against whom there was a case of assault, He was living alone as the accused’s wife has shifted to Mumbai and the son is in jail after being arrested in an attempt to murder case as well. Sources in the area have also told that the victim girl used to visit Suresh frequently.
CP Amitesh Kumar has said that the police officer is aiming to file the charge sheet in this case within about two weeks and speed up the trial.
The top cop has said that they have got strong evidence in the case from the clothes of the accused person and his house.
Police booth personnel informed
The incident came to light when the elder sister of the rape victim saw her crying. On being questioned, he told that blood is bleeding from his private part. After returning from work, the elder sister informed her mother also. The survivor girl kept saying that ‘Suresh Kaka’ had hurt her.
The shocked mother reached Government Medical College and Hospital with her younger daughter, from where the police booth personnel informed the police officers.
Sources in Imambara’s police have said that Suresh has been nabbed from the area, while many policemen even reached Government Medical College and Hospital.
It is also learned that the police officers have also found blood-stained sheets and clothes and body fluids from Suresh house. Senior officials like Zonal DCP Noorul Hasan and Additional CP Navinchandra Reddy have camped at the Imambada police station to monitor the matter and deal with the situation.
